ROLFING

THE 10 SERIES OF ROLFING
The body as a whole shortens over time while holding the mental memories of trauma and injuries, including emotional stress. The best cathartic release is the 10 Series of Rolfing.
SESSION ONE
Starting with the larger regions of the body to discover thresholds of intensity and find out your comfort level of pressure.
THE 10 SERIES OF ROLFING
SESSION TWO
The Feet & Legs will be the main focus, in order to sustain structure there must be a strong stable support from beneath. This session will concentrate on releasing the muscular restrictions of the lower limbs. While also creating awareness of newly formed posture for walking.
THE 10 SERIES OF ROLFING
SESSION THREE
This session marks the end of the first stage of integration to now begin with the “Lateral Line” which attempts to incorporate session 1 & 2 in order to achieve balance. The Lateral Line consists of where the Ear, Shoulder, Hip, Knee, and Ankle all line up when standing.
THE 10 SERIES OF ROLFING
SESSION FOUR
The emphasis will now change from the outer, broader structures into the deeper “Core” portions of the body. The term Core describes the area from the pelvis all the way up to and including the head. This session will attempt to create order from the Ankle all the way up to the Pelvis. Intending to provide Lift to the central part of the body.
THE 10 SERIES OF ROLFING
SESSION FIVE
This session will build upon the work of Session Four and the initial work to lengthen the Core. Moving upwards within the body to free up holding patterns around the Pelvis, Rib Cage, and Abdominal Muscles. By reorganizing and creating space inside these regions, the organs and deep abdominal muscles will reassert themselves.
THE 10 SERIES OF ROLFING
SESSION SIX
This session is the start of what may be called the central theme of Rolfing to “Free the Hips & Legs”. Sessions Four & Five were important in creating lift and balance to the front of the body as we now move to the back of the body to balance this out.
THE 10 SERIES OF ROLFING
SESSION SEVEN
Order is now brought to the head, neck and shoulders. Culminating from all the work in the legs, pelvis and back we can now turn to emphasize the “Top” to release restrictions and tension. Earlier sessions have already started to address these restrictions and now we attempt to organize them fully.
THE 10 SERIES OF ROLFING
SESSIONS EIGHT, NINE & TEN
Balance and Integration of what we have learned from the previous sessions in order to incorporate the newfound freedom you will be experiencing. Discovering problem areas with an emphasis on the lateral or medial lines that need further attention. Three to Five follow up sessions may be beneficial after this point allowing for a few months to pause as you get used to your new self.
INCREASE FLEXIBILITY
The Body Needs Length! Many people have noticed they are taller and slimmer after the 10 Series and through the advanced sessions. People with Knots in their back are astonished when the Knots disappear!
GRAVITY WORKING FOR - NOT AGAINST YOU
A euphoric feeling can also be attributed to Rolfing where an inexplicable floating and serene feeling is experienced when moving through gravity effortlessly.
ARTICULATION AND MOVEMENT
It will take getting used to how your body adjusts to its new mobility. Walking regimens, Yoga, or simple stretching without bouncing or overt pressure can help you acclimate to the changes. Trouble spots will become more evident as you feel yourself attempting to hold to your old patterns.
RELEASING TOXINS
Over the years your body will build up and store lactic acid and toxins. These toxins may be contributing to the binding of your muscles and will release after Rolfing Sessions. It is important to stay hydrated and flush the toxins which may manifest as a lethargic feeling.
